2024 Presidential election If we don’t win on November 5,  I think our country is going to cease to exist. It could be the last election we ever have. I actually mean that. Donald Trump © 2024 Kwiple.com
Accountability The decline in individual accountability for  unpopular decisions is not — or not only — a  form of moral decline on the part of our rulers. It’s also a consequence of the fact that there are fewer decision makers than there used to be. Nearly all the commands and constraints which afflict the modern individual, the decisions which used to be made by identifiable rulers and bosses, are now the result of systems and processes. Artificial intelligence AI will probably be  smarter than any single human next year. By 2029, AI is probably smarter than all humans combined. Elon Musk, 10:25 PM – Mar 12, 2024 © 2024 Kwiple.com
Artificial intelligence  A corporation or a government department isn't a conscious being, but it is an artificial intelligence.  It has the capability to take decisions which are completely distinct from the intentions of any of the people who compose it. And under stressful conditions, it can go stark raving mad. Dan Davies, The Unaccountability Machine © 2024 Kwiple.com
Cocks of the walk say  I'm the most honest human being, perhaps, that God ever created. Donald Trump © 2024 Kwiple.com
Dead-in-the-heads say It’s a form of Navalny. It’s happening in our country too. We are turning into a communist country in many ways. I got indicted four times, I have eight or nine trials. All because of the fact that I’m in, you know this, all because of the fact that I’m in politics. They indicted me. Donald Trump, comparing his legal troubles and his court-imposed fines to Putin's assassination of Alexei Navalny © 2024 Kwiple.com
Decision making Systems don’t have motivations, so they don’t have hidden motivations. If the system consistently produces a  particular outcome, then that’s its purpose. But on the other hand, systems don’t make mistakes. Just as it’s impossible to get lost if you don’t know where you’re going,  a decision-making system does what it does  and then either lives with the consequences or dies of them. Dan Davies, The Unaccountability Machine © 2024 Kwiple.com
Gun control During my four years, nothing happened! And there was great pressure on me having to do with guns. We did nothing. We didn’t yield. And once you yield a little bit, that’s just the beginning. Donald Trump, who presided over major mass shootings in Las Vegas; Sutherland Springs, Texas; Parkland, Florida; Sante Fe, Texas; Pittsburgh; Thousand Oaks, California; Virginia Beach; El Paso, and elsewhere © 2024 Kwiple.com
Housing The fact that some thirtysomethings now own pricey homes in London, New York and San Francisco, despite it  taking the average earner 20 to 30 years to  save up the required deposit in these cities, gives away the open secret of millennial success: substantial parental assistance. Research from property broker Redfin in February showed that 36 per cent of young Americans had financial help from family when buying their first home. Seemingly, home ownership in the US is becoming increasingly hereditary, just as it is in Britain. John Burn-Murdoch, Financial Times, April 12, 2024 © 2024 Kwiple.com
Immigration I said [in 2018], you know, “Why can’t we allow people to come in  from nice countries, I’m trying to be nice.” Nice countries, you know, like Denmark, Switzerland? Do we have any people coming in from Denmark? How about Switzerland? How about Norway? Donald Trump. who reportedly raised $50 million from the millionaires and billionaires who attended the April 6, 2024, fund raiser hosted by billionaire John Paulson in Palm Beach, where he called for immigration from “nice”/white countries © 2024 Kwiple.com
Immigration People were sick.  We don’t want them coming into our country  with contagious diseases, and they have it. All of a sudden you see these contagious diseases spreading, and everyone is saying, “I wonder where they came from.” I can tell you where they came from. Donald Trump © 2024 Kwiple.com
Immigration They’re rough people, in many cases, from jails, prisons, mental institutions, insane asylums. You know, insane asylums. That's Silence of the Lambs  stuff. Hannibal Lecter, anybody know Hannibal Lecter? We don’t want ’em in this country. Donald Trump, comparing immigrants to a fictional serial killer who eats his victims © 2024 Kwiple.com
Kwiplers say Count votes in Congress by: 1. Calculating a Member's Proportional Vote (MPV) for each member, as follows: MPV = SPNP / NLRS where: SPNP = State's Percentage of the National Population NLRS = Number of Legislators Representing the State (in that legislature) 2. Totaling “yes” MPVs and “no” MPVs 3. Passing if total MPV is more than 50 OTHERWISE Abolish the Senate © 2019 Kwiple.com
Nukes “always, never” Phrase used to describe nuclear weapons that will always explode when they should and never when they shouldn't © 2024 Kwiple.com
Politics Politics is just like show business. You have a hell of an opening, you coast for a while, and then have a hell of a close. Ronald Reagan © 2023 Kwiple.com
Populism How can nativist populists be beaten? Before anyone dismisses the label as meaningless, let’s define it.  Populists divide the world into a “pure people” and a “corrupt elite”, says Cas Mudde. Nativists add the notion that “the people” are the majority ethnic group: Hindus in India, whites in the US. Anti-populists need to tell a new version of the people-versus-elite story, but casting  themselves as the heroes. For American Demo- crats opposing Trump, that story should be: everyone in this country is born equal; we all belong here and we support democracy. The strongest political value available to anti-populists is decency. Simon Kuper, Financial Times, April 11, 2024 © 2024 Kwiple.com
Populism  They endlessly retell the story of the people  against the elite — an echo of Marx’s account of “proletarians” and “capitalists”.  The thing to grasp about the populist story is  that it’s just that: a story, laden with values. It’s not a collection of facts or policies. That means it cannot be defeated by rival facts or policies. Simon Kuper, Financial Times, April 11, 2024 © 2024 Kwiple.com
Post-2022 Senate shituation 15 states (Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming) 2020 population: 40,737,128 Senators: 30 Republicans 1 Senator per 1,357,904 people 1 state (California) 2022 population: 39,995,077 Senators: 2 Democrats 1 Senator per 19,997,539 people 19,997,539 / 1,357,904 = 14.7, therefore: average 15er's vote is worth nearly 15 times a Californian's, a Californian's vote is worth less than 7% of an average 15er's 1 state (Wyoming) 2022 population = 579,495, therefore: 1 Senator per 289,748 Wyomians, a Wyomian's vote is worth 69 times a Californian's, a Californian's vote is worth 1.4% of a Wyomian's  © 2023 Kwiple.com
Trumpists say God is sending America strong signs to tell us to repent. Earthquakes and eclipses and many more things to come. I pray that our country listens.  Marjorie Taylor Greene, 12:13 PM – Apr 5, 2024  © 2024 Kwiple.com
Trumpists say This is a war on Christianity. The Ukrainian government is attacking Christians; the Ukrainian government is executing priests. Russia is not doing that. They are not attacking Christianity. As a matter of fact, they seem to be protecting it. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Putinist, who thinks Ukrainians are not Christians and bombing hundreds of their churches is, 11:52 AM – Apr 8, 2024  © 2024 Kwiple.com
Trumpists say  These are not innocent Palestinian civilians. Brian Mast,  when asked about Palestinian babies killed by Israeli attackers in Gaza © 2024 Kwiple.com
Trumpists say We don’t need a federal ban [on abortion] when we have Comstock on the books. I think the pro-life groups should  keep their mouths shut as much as possible until the [2024] election. Jonathan Mitchell [Their objective is to estsblish a nationwide ban on abortion by enforcing the Comstock Act  of 1873, which makes it illegal to use the mail to  distribute anything “obcene,” including anything pertaining to abortion and contracepti0n] © 2024 Kwiple.com
Trumpists say We have to ensure that  every single penny of every dollar donated [to the Republican National Committee] goes to causes that people care about. That’s part of the reason that I think I’m such a great fit for this.  There’s no one more loyal to Donald Trump  and the Make America Great Again move- ment than this person you’re looking at right here; than me. Trumpists say We need to have more kids,  we need to have an opportunity to do that,  and I thought this was the right thing to do. Tommy Tuberville,  on why he supports the Alabama Supreme Court's decision that effectively banned IVF (in vitro fertilization) in the state © 2024 Kwiple.com
Trumpists say We shouldn’t be spending a dime on humanitarian aid [to Palestinians being starved by Israelis]. It should be like Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Get it over quick. Tim Walberg, pastor and self-described "good Christian" who also thinks LGBTQ people should be killed © 2024 Kwiple.com
Trumpists say Welcome to the end of democracy. We are here to overthrow it completely.  We didn’t get all the way there on January 6, but we will endeavor to get rid of it and replace it with this, right here. All glory is not to government. All glory to God. Jack Posobiec, the Pizzagate conspiracy theorist, addressing the Conservative Political Action Conference, (CPAC 2024), to applause and huzzahs © 2024 Kwiple.com
Truth Social It went public [earlier this week]. He made $5 billion. Idiots bought shares in this money-losing imitation Twitter that no one uses. This is why Trump is never really going to be against abortion: he needs a sucker born every minute. Bill Maher, Real Time with Bill Maher, March 29, 2024 © 2024 Kwiple.com
