2024 Presidential election If I don't get elected, it's going to be a bloodbath for the whole country. Donald Trump © 2024 Kwiple.com
Activism In activist circles, moving from outsider to insider is often viewed as a betrayal. But being on the inside isn't the same thing as selling out. It means your interests are represented. Joshua Green, in Rebels © 2024 Kwiple.com
The Bible All Americans need a Bible in their home. And I have many. It's my faforite book. It's a lot of people's favorite book. I'm proud to endorse and encourge you to get this Bible. We must make America pray again.  I'm proud to partner with Lee in this offering. He's a very special man, both as a talent but maybe even more so as a human being. He's very, very special. And I think you all should  get a copy of God Bless the USA Bible now and help spread our Christian values with others. There you have it. Donald Trump, partnering with Lee Greewood, in selling a Bible online for $59.99. All sales final. © 2024 Kwiple.com
Blacks And then I got indicted a second time and a third time and a fourth time. And a lot of people said that that's why the Black people like me because they have been hurt so badly and discriminated against. Donald Trump © 2024 Kwiple.com
Death Swear to make them cut me open, so that I won't be buried alive. Last words of Frédéric Chopin © 2024 Kwiple.com

Facts Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Mark Twain quoted by Rudyard Kipling in “From Sea to Sea, No. XXXVII” © 2024 Kwiple.com
Fascism When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross. Attributed to Sinclair Lewis and sometimes to Huey Long  © 2024 Kwiple.com
Immigration In some cases they're not people, in my opinion. But I'm not allowed to say that because the radical Left says that's a terrible thing to say. These are animals, OK, and we have to stop it. Donald Trump © 2024 Kwiple.com
Kwiplers say Count votes in Congress by: 1. Calculating a Member's Proportional Vote (MPV) for each member, as follows: MPV = SPNP / NLRS where: SPNP = State's Percentage of the National Population NLRS = Number of Legislators Representing the State (in that legislature) 2. Totaling “yes” MPVs and “no” MPVs 3. Passing if total MPV is more than 50 OTHERWISE Abolish the Senate © 2019 Kwiple.com
Neoliberalism I would get rid of government in health care. I would get rid of government in education to a much greater extent than we have. I would discharge those responsibilities either to the private sector or to the states. Richard Gephardt, 1981 © 2024 Kwiple.com
Neoliberalism Our proposals presuppose the eocnomy will work best when private industry leads the way. Paul Tsongas © 2024 Kwiple.com
News For all the angst about polarisation and disinformation, something very different is in fact going on in news consumption: the mass-media age is ending.  We’re returning to a time when most people get almost no news. Growing numbers of citizens are oblivious to current affairs, much like most ordinary Britons before  the first popular newspaper, the Daily Mail, appeared in 1896 We marvel at Russians, switched off and immobilised while their government commits horrors. That could be us very soon. Simon Kuper, Financial Times, March 21, 2023 © 2024 Kwiple.com
Post-2022 Senate shituation 15 states (Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming) 2020 population: 40,737,128 Senators: 30 Republicans 1 Senator per 1,357,904 people 1 state (California) 2022 population: 39,995,077 Senators: 2 Democrats 1 Senator per 19,997,539 people 19,997,539 / 1,357,904 = 14.7, therefore: average 15er's vote is worth nearly 15 times a Californian's, a Californian's vote is worth less than 7% of an average 15er's 1 state (Wyoming) 2022 population = 579,495, therefore: 1 Senator per 289,748 Wyomians, a Wyomian's vote is worth 69 times a Californian's, a Californian's vote is worth 1.4% of a Wyomian's  © 2023 Kwiple.com
Problem solving Some problems can’t be solved  [such as revitalizing disindustrialized areas,  declining birth rates in advanced countries,  migration from poorer to richer neighbors], just mitigated at the edges. Pretending otherwise isn’t “optimistic” or enlightened, it is poisonous to a nation’s civic health. Oh, for more of the can’t-do spirit. Janan Ganesh, Financial Times, March 19, 2024 © 2024 Kwiple.com
Problem solving There are such things as intractable problems. There is such a thing as rational despair. Saying so marks one out as callous. But not saying so, pretending that all questions have answers, is worse,  because if a problem persists, it  must be that  politicians are incompetent or don’t care. From an essentially positive premise  — that nothing is beyond human ingenuity — we arrive at a cynical and acrimonious atmosphere. Janan Ganesh, Financial Times, March 19, 2024 © 2024 Kwiple.com
Public discourse Comment is free but facts are on expenses. Tom Stoppard, Night and Day  © 2024 Kwiple.com

Social media The cliché used to be that people had moved to social media for news. Well, they have moved to social media, but increasingly not for news.  After all, why let journalists you don’t trust tell you about politicians you don’t trust? Meta says news now accounts for under 3 per cent of what users see on its biggest platform, Facebook. Instagram, too, has deprioritised news. TikTok won’t even show political adverts. Simon Kuper, Financial Times, March 21, 2023 © 2024 Kwiple.com
