1%ers say The best souvenir I've brought home is a pair of spectacular knee-length, embroidered black silk folkloric boots called tsholhams  that I bought at a market in Bhutan. I also treasure the brightly coloured mandala given to me by the King and Queen of Bhutan after a magnificent dinner at their palace. It hangs in my office and reminds me of that special trip and their friendship. Diane von Furstenberg, fashion designer and former princess, How to Spend It, June 16, 2014 © 2015 Kwiple.com
1%ers say My personal style signifiers are wearing colour and a high heel [sic] by Gianvito Rossi. I like to experiment with fashion and to look both polished and feminine but not overdone or intimidating. My go-to pieces are usually by Proenza Schouler, Oscar de la Renta, Givenchy, Céline, Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana, but I'll try anythong once and love discovering new designers. Every new season brings a thrill. Lauren Santo Domingo, fashionista also known as LSD, How to Spend It, April 27, 2015 © 2015 Kwiple.com

Altruism … we ought to give money away, rather than spend it on clothes which we do not need to keep us warm. To do so is not charitable, or generous. Nor is it the kind of act which philosophers and theologians have called “supererogatory” - an act which it it would be good to do, but not wrong not to do. On the contrary, we ought to give the money away, and it is wrong not to do so. Peter Singer Famine, Affluence, and Morality © 2016 Kwiple.com

Clothes The big thing at the Empire [Burlesque house] is hats. Down the aisle from me a fellow addict fifty years my senior is dropping his load in his hat. His hat, Doctor! Oy, I'm sick. I want to cry. Not into your hat, you schvantz, you got to put that thing on your head! You've got to put it on now and go back outside and walk around downtown Newark dripping gissum down your forehead. How will you eat lunch in that hat! Resisters say Femmes with long hair will want to consider a style that keeps their hair out of their eyes and also does not im- pede their ability to put on a gas mask. French braids and their “inside-out” counterparts, Dutch braids, work remarkably well for these purposes, and are compatible with any hair type, and offer the added benefit of keeping your hair from looking a mess if you wind up spending the night in jail. Resisters say It is also worth keeping in mind that organic materials (like cotton and wool) absorb chemical contaminants, while synthetic materials (like nylon) will help keep your body insulated and provide a better barrier between pepper spray and your skin, but will melt if they come into contact with something hot such as a tear gas canister. As a strong, fierce femme, you shouldn't feel forced to choose between the two. Instead, consider layering as a way to get the best of both worlds … Elle Armageddon, “The Femme's Guide to Riot Fashion” © 2017 Kwiple.com
